There are many vehicles currently being marketed as “4WD’s”, but not all of them are “off-road capable”. “Soft-Road” vehicles (e.g. Honda CR-V, Nissan X-Trail or Toyota RAV-4) cannot safely complete the Club’s Driver Training Course as they lack the ground clearance and low-range gearing required to undertake the course safely. If you own such a vehicle, you are welcome to join the Club and participate in our social activities.
You should borrow an off-road capable 4WD to do the Driver Training Course and check with the Trip Leader as to whether their trip is suitable for a soft-roader.
Historic Registration of Vehicles
In NSW and ACT owners of vehicles that are older than 30 years have the opportunity to register their vehicles under the Historic Vehicle Registration Scheme. There are many motor vehicle clubs who participate in this Roads and Maritime Services NSW registration scheme, however at present the Nissan Patrol 4WD Club of NSW & ACT Inc. does NOT offer historic registration.
If you are specifically looking for a club for the purposes of historic registration please visit the RMS website for further info.
If you are looking for a club to enjoy your vehicle, use it for what it was designed for, participate in driver training and regular trips, and enjoy our club land then we are the right club for you. Please join us HERE
